1. Introduction
Welcome to Stowio (“we”, “our”, or “us”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Stowio mobile application (the “App”). Stowio is designed as a local-first belongings organization app that helps you remember where you put your things.
2. Information We Collect and Store
a) Information You Save in Stowio
Stowio lets you choose what information to save about your belongings. This can include item names, places, spots, notes, tags, favorites, status, reminders, prices, currencies, quantities, purchase and other dates, barcode or QR information, item photos, receipt photos, named links, and other details you enter. This core item information is designed to remain on your device during normal local use.
b) Real Location
If you use the Premium Real Location feature, Stowio can store latitude, longitude, and the time the location was saved. You may enter coordinates manually, select a point on a map, or choose to use your device’s current location. Stowio does not continuously track your location in the background. Location is used only when you choose to save or update it.
c) Photos and Files
Item photos and receipt photos you add are stored locally on your device during normal use. If you choose to use Google Drive Backup or Premium Export, the relevant files may be included in the backup or export you request.
d) Google Account and Google Drive
Google Drive Backup is optional. If you choose to use it, Stowio uses Google Sign-In and Google Drive to authenticate you and to create, read, restore, or delete your Stowio backup as requested. Stowio may receive basic account information required by Google authentication, such as your Google account identifier or email address, subject to the permissions you grant. Your use of Google services is also governed by Google’s applicable policies.
e) Support and Feedback
If you contact us for support or feedback, we may receive information you choose to provide, such as your email address and the contents of your message.
f) Automatically Collected Information
We use third-party services that may automatically process information about the app and device, including diagnostic and usage information such as device model, operating system version, app interactions, session information, and crash information. These services may include Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Google AdMob, and advertising mediation or bidding partners enabled in the App.
3. How We Use Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve Stowio and its features.
- To store and display the belongings information you choose to save.
- To provide optional Google Drive Backup and Restore when you request it.
- To provide Premium features such as Real Location and Export Data when you use them.
- To provide reminders and notifications you configure.
- To understand app usage and performance through analytics.
- To diagnose and fix technical problems through crash reporting.
- To provide advertising, including personalized or non-personalized ads as applicable and according to your consent choices.
- To respond to support requests and feedback.
- To comply with applicable legal obligations and protect our rights and the security of the App.
4. Advertising and Analytics
Stowio may display advertisements using Google AdMob and enabled mediation or bidding partners. These providers may process device, advertising, and usage-related information according to their own policies and the settings or consent choices that apply to you.
Stowio uses Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the App and Firebase Crashlytics to help identify and fix crashes and technical issues.
5. Consent and Advertising Choices
Where required, Stowio uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to obtain and manage consent for personalized advertising. Depending on your location and the applicable requirements, you may be able to accept or decline personalized advertising. You can manage available consent choices through the App’s consent controls.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Information may be processed by third-party service providers only as necessary to provide the services described in this Policy or when required by law.
- Google: Google Sign-In and Google Drive are used when you choose the optional backup features.
- Firebase: Analytics and Crashlytics may process usage, device, and diagnostic information.
- Advertising providers: AdMob and enabled mediation or bidding partners may process advertising-related information.
- Legal authorities: Information may be disclosed when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect our rights or the security of the App.
7. Local Storage and Your Control
Stowio’s core belongings information is designed to be stored locally on your device. You control the information you enter and can manage or delete your saved items through the App. Optional cloud backup and export features operate only when you choose to use them.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
Locally stored Stowio data remains on your device until you delete it, remove the App’s data, or uninstall the App, subject to your device and operating system behavior. Google Drive backups remain in your Google Drive until you delete them or use Stowio’s available cloud-backup controls to delete them.
Information handled by third-party services may be retained according to the applicable provider’s policies.
9. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and administrative safeguards designed to protect information handled through Stowio. However, no storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Information stored locally is also protected according to the security of your device and operating system.
10. Children’s Privacy
Stowio is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us.
11. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights concerning personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, object to, or restrict certain processing and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You can also manage locally stored Stowio data directly within the App and manage your Google account permissions through Google.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to Stowio, our services, or applicable requirements. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
